About Louhou

A Letter from the Founder

I founded Louhou as a college student in the United States. One year into my hijab journey, I found myself struggling to put together outfits that truly felt right. My choices were often limited to either jeans, a long shirt, and a hijab or a jilbab with a long jacket. As someone who loves baggy clothing, neither option felt comfortable or aligned with my personal style.

As I deepened my understanding of my religion, I discovered the 8 rules of the hijab, a realization that completely changed the way I viewed modest fashion. Growing up in an Islamic country, I had never really questioned the details of hijab beyond tradition. But in the U.S., I immersed myself in learning about it, and that knowledge sparked a desire to create something better.

Determined to find a solution, I took drawing courses and began designing my first collection, one that would reflect both comfort and modesty while staying true to the 8 rules of the hijab.

And just like that, Louhou was born. A brand built on the idea that modest fashion can be comfortable, stylish, and true to its purpose.
